A global emergency

REDUCE. REFUSE. REUSE.

Into the deep

Poisoning all ecosystems from coral reefs to abyssal trenches, plastic pollution has become a global emergency demanding for urgent action.

Cigarette butts, ear sticks, bottles and cups: from the Atlantic Ocean to the Mediterranean Sea, 8 millions tons of plastic ends up every year in our ocean floors and sea shores; it corresponds to 5 bags filled with plastic going along every foot of coastline in the world.

IF YOU CAN'T REUSE IT, REFUSE IT

Disarming consequences

IT'S ALL OUR FAULT

As estimated by the Ellen McArthur foundation, a charitable organisation studying the global evolution of the circular economy, by 2025 in a business-as-usual scenario, the Ocean is going to contain 1 tone of plastic for every 3 tonnes of fish.

In 2050, instead, the annual input is expected to double up with more plastic in the oceans than fish by weight.

“The greatest threat to our planet is the belief that someone else will save it.”
